When Tru Talk Media started, we had very little to work with.  At the start, it was basically just a video camera and Caleb’s experience filming and editing for AutoRestoMod.  Now we have a lot more equipment that we work with so here is a list of everything we use for TTM Videos

Cameras:
Canon EOS Rebel T5i EF-S 18-55 IS STM Kit

This is the Canon T5i.  This is the step up from the camera we use now, the Canon T3i.  The T3i has sadly been discontinued but the T5i is basically the same. The main difference is the auto-focus feature being added to the T5i, which is awesome for filming.

Sony HD Video Recording HDRCX440 Handycam Camcorder

This is our second camera.  It is a great camcorder that we use for a lot of our action shots.  This is good choice for YouTube/video production.

Canon PowerShot SX530 HS – Wi-Fi Enabled

This is now our third camera.  This was one of the first cameras we used for video and for a low budget video-maker who wants to shoot photos along with video, this is the camera for you.

Mics:

Rode NTG4 PLUS Shotgun Microphone

We recently switched from lav mics to shotgun mics and we love the change.  It makes audio production a lot easier and we love this new mic.  The sound is very clear and this is one of the best Rode shotgun mics for people on a budget.

Rode smartLav+ Lavalier Microphone for iPhone and Smartphones

This is our main lavalier microphone and it is great.  The audio from these microphones is great for the price and it easy to hide under clothes.  For a YouTuber, this is a great mic.  Make sure you have an Apple device on hand though! The Rode app that goes along with this is only available on iTunes.

SGC-598 Photography Interview Shotgun MIC Microphone for Nikon Canon DSLR Camera

This is our secondary microphone.  It was the very first microphone we used and the sound quality is great for the price of only 30 dollars.  It also can be plugged straight into a DSLR, which makes editing a lot easier.

Blue Microphones Yeti USB Microphone

This is what we use to record our podcast. It is a great mic if you have the budget and can be recorded through a laptop or computer. It can also be great for voice-over work or even gaming videos. If you don’t have as big of a budget we recommend the Blue Snowball USB Microphone, it’s a step down from our current mic but it still sounds good for beginners.

Tripods:
Davis & Sanford Provista 7518 Tripod with FM18 Head

This is our main tripod and it is a great and inexpensive piece of equipment.  It is very sturdy and works well for any video production.

Sony VCT-R640 Lightweight Tripod for DSCV1/P41/W1/P93/P73/P92/P100/P150/F88/F828 Digital Cameras

This is our main tripod for our Sony camera.  It is lightweight and inexpensive and a good choice for budget YouTubers.

AmazonBasics 60-Inch Lightweight Tripod with Bag

This tripod we use to hold our external audio recorder.

More Audio:
Tascam DR-60D MKII Portable Recorder for DSLR

This is our primary external audio recorder.  Paired with the Rode NTG4+, this creates amazing audio for any video-maker.

Apple iPod touch 16GB Blue (6th Generation)

This is the iPod that we record our SmartLav audio into.  Any Apple device will work but the iPod allows it to be easily hidden in your pocket.  With the Rode SmartLav and Rode Rec app, this is a great audio recorder.

GLS Audio 25 foot Mic Cable Patch Cords – XLR Male to XLR Female Black Microphone Cables

This is the type of mic chord needed for the NTG4 PLUS and the Tascam DR-60D.  We recommend the GLS chord, it is what we use and holds up.

Rode Deadcat Wind Muff Microphone Cover

This is a wind muff that we use mainly when filming outside.  It blocks the wind well and is perfect for shotgun mics.

Rode Boompole Microphone Boom Arm

This is the boom pole that Richard, our sound man, uses to record audio.  The NTG4+ connects to the top with a Shock Mount.

On Stage Stands MS7701B Tripod Boom Microphone Stand

When Richard is busy, we use this to hold the mic.

Rode SM3 Shock Mount For Rode Shotguns

This screws to the boom pole or boom stand.  It holds the mic and reduces the noise from the pole getting bumped.

Audio-Technica ATH-ANC7B QuietPoint Active Noise-Cancelling Closed-Back Headphones

These are the headphones we use to monitor audio.  They cancel the room noise out.  In sketches, Richard wears Beats Solo2.

Editing Equipment and Software:
Adobe Creative Cloud

For video editing we mainly use Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe Audition.  We also use After Effects
and Photoshop.  This bundle contains all four of those and more.  This is a great bundle for a video maker.

Apple MacBook Pro MJLT2LL/A 15.4-Inch Laptop with Retina Display (512 GB)

This laptop is perfect for a video editing.  It is great for a editor on the go!  We have used this laptop for many of our episodes.

Website Building:

Bluehost

This is our web host for this website.  We recommend this for anyone who wants to build their own website.  It is very easy and the people there are very helpful.
